Exciting shows this weekend!

This weekend, I'll have some talented help at two exciting shows — and I'll be celebrating my birthday, as well.

On Friday, Oct. 1, at 8 p.m., I'll be back to the wonderful Barrington Coffee House and Cafe, 131 Clements Bridge Road in Barrington,, NJ. (co-billed with Chris Chadwick.)

My friend, Greg Potter, will be accompanying me on guitar, and our friend, Jon Mollenhauer, visiting from Tokyo for a couple of weeks, will join us on Dobro and banjo. This will be a fun night all around.

The Barrington Coffee House show costs $10.

On Saturday, Oct. 2 — which is my birthday — I'll be part of a all-star-extravaganza CD release party for those power-pop wizards, Blank Pages,

This is Greg Potter music, through and through. Blank Pages is releasing its new CD, "Absolute Uncertainty" on the Kool Kat Musik label and, to celebrate, Greg invited a bunch of friends to come and play at the Swede's Inn, King's Highway, Swedesboro, NJ.

This free show starts at 8 p.m. with a set by Blank Pages. At about 9, I'll do a set, accompanied by Greg on guitar, Jon Mollenhauer on Dobro and banjo, Pete Cogan on harmonica and Almost FAB! member, Rich Snyder, singing harmony on a couple of songs.

Then drummer Ed McCaffrey's new band, Meat Pretzel, will do a set around 10 p.m.

Around 11, the incredible Beatles' tribute band, Almost FAB!, will break with tradition — presenting a set of songs by the Monkees, the Beach Boys and other 1960s bands — but NO Beatles' songs. This is must-see entertainment!

And it's my birthday. Will you still need me, when I'm 64? THAT is the 64 dollar question!

Hope to see you this weekend.

(Oh, and for those folks who say they won't come out to see me unless they can buy a drink. Saturday is the gig for you.)

If you haven't come out yet to see me at the Progressive Coffee House in Glassboro, you really need to get there soon.

It's a really cool place and Ed and Jen, the proprietors, are very cool people.

I'll be there every month through September, so please come out.

There's also a new place in Pitman called The Ground House, right on Broadway where Pal Joey's used to be. It has a second room with two (count 'em — two) stages, a small one in the middle of the room and a larger one at the back. This place has some serious entertainment potential — Ray Mamrak, who's running the place with his sister, Sue, is a movie maker and the name of his place is also going to be the title of a horror movie.

Check the calendar to see when I am appearing at Progressive Coffee House and The Ground House!
